Development and Validation of a Method for Determining the Quercetin-3-O-glucuronide and Ellagic Acid Content of Common Evening Primrose (Oenothera biennis) by HPLC-UVD

Toward the standardization of common evening primrose (Oenothera biennis) sprout extract (OBS-E), we aimed to obtain indicator compounds and use a validated method. HPLC-UVD allowed simultaneous quantification quercetin-3-O-glucuronide ellagic acid. The method was in terms specificity, linearity, precision, accuracy, limit detection/limit (LOD/LOQ). High specificity linearity demonstrated, with correlation coefficients 1.0000 for 0.9998 LOD/LOQ values were 0.486/1.472 ?g/mL 1.003/3.039 Intra-day inter-day variability tests produced relative standard deviation each compound <2%, generally accepted precision criterion. recovery rate also obtained, indicating accuracy validation. OBS-E prepared using various concentrations ethanol then analyzed. 50% had highest content quercetin-3-O-glucuronide, whereas 70% possessed lowest. However, acid lowest 90% extract. Thus, can be used industrially as O. biennis products, our establish other natural products.
